Rich and Meg Mottl
Owners of CrossFit Kirkwood
Husband-Wife Duo, Parents of Two, CrossFit Addicts
Without a doubt, we became CrossFit addicted early in 2007 after experiencing our very first class! Even though we met in a gym in 1995 and had worked out together ever since, CrossFit shook up our view of fitness and reshaped it entirely. Everything else we've tried has paled in comparison- the intensity, the focus on form, the results, the strong community- it is ALL good.
After taking classes for a year and a half, we journeyed to Union City, California in June of 2008 to obtain our Level 1 Certifications. Quickly after the certification experience, the idea of CrossFit Kirkwood was born, and everything snowballed from there.
Here we are!
Our goal is to foster elite fitness along with fostering a supportive CrossFit community with personalized, quality instruction. We are first and foremost learners and love to share our knowledge and experience to help others improve their level of fitness and overall health. We continue to learn and grow and hope the same for all our clients at CrossFit Kirkwood.

LAKE MILLIKAN
We are also ever-so-fortunate to have our friend/client/CrossFitting athlete, Brian Millikan (Lake Millikan), on board with us! He is married to CrossFitter Angie Millikan (PMill) and they have 5 handsome, spunky boys: Owen, Nate, Gabe, Quinn, and Ian. Brian owns his own law firm, MillikanWright, and prior to that was a city police officer for the City of St. Louis. Lake Millikan played college baseball, dabbled in powerlifting and boxing, ran half marathons, and climbed several mountains, including Mount Whitney.

Peanut
Brooke Williams packs a lot of power in a tiny package! Her strength-to-bodyweight ratio is phenomenal, and she's incredibly fast to boot! Brooke is not only nowledgeable, incredibly kind, and encouraging, but she's a teacher, so multi-tasking, taking in new information and assimilating it AND applying it come naturally to her. She's passionate and a natural athlete, and we're fortunate she landed with us at CFKW!
She has one son, Blake, who is her pride and joy, and she has taught elementary school for 10 years (currently teaches 5th grade in Kirkwood).
She ran track and cross country in high school and continued running and lifting weights on her own until she found CrossFit. Her cousin (who is in the military) told her about it, and she decided to give it a try to spice up her workout routine. She has been hooked ever since!

ALL IN, ALL THE TIME...but with a smile, of course! That's Matt Losse! From day one of CrossFitting, he has hit every skill and workout with gusto and focus. In addition, he's a learner and a leader at heart- doesn't hesitate to ask questions, always open to both giving and receiving constructive feedback, and is incredibly supportive and attentive to all of the athletes in our community. Just has a way about him, he does!
Matt has one tight-knit family- wife Jill is a fellow CrossFitter (strong and athletic as all get-out!), and they have three beautiful daughters; Ava – 7, Mya – 5, and Livia 3. Matt heads up ALL of Ava's sports: soccer, basketball, and baseball.
He serves as a Senior Account Manager/Owner at Opinions Incorporated, a family-owned HR consulting business specializing in employee satisfaction surveys since 1989.
Through high school, he played football and baseball and has always worked out in some form or another ever since. In addition, Guy Smiley has got some wheels! He successfully completed five full marathons and one half marathon.
After graduating from Kirkwood High School, Matt completed 2 years of college at Meramec and Mizzou before joining the family business in 1997.
How Matt landed at CrossFit Kirkwood:
I was looking for a different workout, and heard I should try CrossFit from friends who loved it. I was hooked after the introductory series! I love the trainers, the continuous challenge and progression, the competitiveness, the camaraderie, and most of all the community as a whole- just awesome!
